Micah has spent his entire working life around food, with his first job in high school being a bagboy for a large grocery chain followed by two years at Chick-Fil-A where he somehow avoided saying “my pleasure” even once (he now says it often)! While attending college, he got into the produce manufacturing and distribution industry, thus beginning a career in the food business from which he has not looked back.
Micah spent his first 10 years in the produce industry at FreshPoint within their fresh-cut processing and value-added divisions and, more recently, spent 5 years as president of East Coast Fresh. His love for great food and good drinks (wine and rye whiskey) mixed with the deep connections to the many people in the industry is what makes it one Micah is so passionate about. Additionally, he has had the rare pleasure of being able to work in it alongside his father, Larry Brown, and brother, Ben.
Penguin Packaging Solutions is an exciting new chapter for Micah, fulfilling a lifelong dream of being an entrepreneur and business owner. Transitioning into the food packaging business has been a natural progression for Micah, utilizing his experience and relationships as well as combining his passions with a competitive spirit to build something truly special!
Born and raised in Florida, Micah attended the University of Central Florida for his undergraduate degree and achieved his MBA from Loyola University Maryland. He spends as much of his free time as he can traveling, playing golf, and being with family and friends (preferably at brunch or happy hour). Micah is also an active member of the Washington DC & Baltimore Chapter of YPO and currently sits on the Fresh-Cut Processor Board of Directors for United Fresh.
